Holy Orders

Holy Orders

Holy Orders is the sacrament by which bishops, priests and deacons are ordained and receive the power and grace to perform their sacred duties. In this way, the mission entrusted by Christ to his apostles continues to be exercised in the Church. It involves the Laying on of Hands, the Prayer of Consecration, the investiture with stole (and chasuble), the Anointing of hands with the Oil of Chrism.
