Father Sandy McDonald was raised in Lugoff, SC, and he is one of seven siblings. He has been a priest of the Diocese of Charleston since 1991, and he has been Pastor at St. John Neumann Parish since 2010. He enjoys reading, cooking, and taking in the arts.

Father Bob grew up in New York and spend most of his adult life in the big apple. He was ordained as a transitional deacon on May 22, 2004 and as a priest on July 23, 2005. He was our parochial vicar previously from February 2019 until July 2020. He has returned to our parish in June 2023 as our parochial vicar and school faculty member. He is an early riser and enjoys walking.

Enrique and his family have been members of SJN since 2012. He served in many ministries as a parishioner but has been blessed to serve in the parish office since 2021 with the Hispanic Ministry. He was ordained as a Deacon in 2023 and now serves as the Pastoral Associate for Hispanic Ministry.

Deacon Ron was born in the coal region of northeast Pennsylvania, one of three children. He is the father of two and grandfather of five. He was ordained to the diaconate in 2002 and received his masters in theology in 2021. He enjoys spending time with family, camping, and serving as a Public Safety Chaplain.

Wendy is from Oregon, where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Nursing. She is an air force veteran. Wendy has been the parish nurse since 2002. Wendy enjoys her family and travel.

Verónica has been at St. John Neumann since April 2012. She enjoys helping people and protecting the environment. Her hobbies are reading outdoors, crocheting and sharing time with friends.

Trudy comes from Philadelphia and has served the parish since 2021 as an EM and then a sacristan. She enjoys cooking and making people laugh.

Silvia has been serving the parish since 2012 and is originally from Germany where she completed college and grew up Catholic. She has experienced the unique joys and challenges of military life until her husband’s retirement here in Columbia. Silvia enjoys helping people, brighten someone's day, and spending time with family.

Rhina was born in El Salvador, grew up and was educated in a Catholic school. She graduated from the University of South Carolina in 2023 where she earned a bachelor's degree in psychology and a master's degree in social work. She likes working with young people and helping those most in need. She loves traveling, doing missions and spending time with her family.

Linda Mooney directs the SJN Adult Choir and the Neumann Kids Choir. She enjoys planning the music for the liturgy and playing the piano and organ for the services. Mrs. Mooney has been involved in music ministry for many years.

Maria was born in Brazil, where she completed her college education and earned a master's degree. Raised in a devout Catholic family, she learned from an early age the importance and beauty of living her faith. Maria and her husband began volunteering in the Catholic Church while they were still engaged. For over 10 years, they have worked together in Adult Faith Formation and Marriage Encounter programs. Finding a spiritual home at St. John Neumann, Maria is delighted to join the parish staff in 2025 and continue serving the Lord in faith formation.

Anna joined the parish in January 2025. Born and raised in Buffalo, NY, she moved here in 2002. Anna is married and has one child, who attended St. John Neumann School and continued his education at Cardinal Newman School. Anna loves to cook and bake and is an avid reader. 

Michael was born and raised in Sumter, SC and spent 22 years serving his country in the US Air Force. He has actively served the parish since 2013. Michael thoroughly enjoys putting a smile on faces by providing a listening ear and often times a lending hand.
